Tom Brady will retire from the NFL at the age of 44: Reports American football news

After an extraordinary career strewn with trophies and records, Tom Brady is retiring from the NFL, according to US media reports.

Tom Brady is retiring from the NFL after an unprecedented career in which he won seven Super Bowls and set numerous records for passing, according to his company’s Twitter account and several reports in the American media.

Brady, 44, came out after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to last season’s Super Bowl title and this season’s NFC South Championship.

Brady’s Twitter account at TB12sports wrote: “7 rings for the Super Bowl. 5 MVP of the Super Bowl. 3 MVP awards of the league. 22 amazing seasons. Thank you for everything, @TomBrady. ”

ESPN first announced Brady’s retirement on Saturday, citing unidentified sources.

Brady said he wanted to spend more time with his wife and children, even though he was still playing at the top of his game. He led the NFL in assists (5,316), touchdowns (43), finishes (485) and attempts (719), but the Buccaneers lost at home to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday in the division.

Brady has won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots in 20 seasons, playing for coach Bill Belichick. He joined the Buccaneers in 2020 and led them to the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.

Brady left the games as a career leader in yard passes (84,520) and touchdowns (624). He is the only player to have won more than five Super Bowls and has been the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the game five times.

Widely considered the greatest quarterback in the game, Brady won three NVL MVP awards, was All-Pro in the first team three times and was selected for the Pro Bowl 15 times. He was 243-73 in his regular season career and 35-12 in the playoffs.
